Rava Laddu (రవ్వ లడ్డు)

Introduction :
Rava Laddu is one of the yummy Indian sweet items. With simple effort and in less time you can prepare the awesome  Laddu's". It is one of the favorite sweet for most of the children.




Ingredients :

  • Rava/Suji/Semolina - 1 Cup
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Fresh Coconut - 25 gms (grated)
  • Milk - 25 ml
  • Cashew Nuts/Kaaju - 10 no's
  • Raisins (Kismis) - 10 no's
  • Ghee - 25 gms
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp

Preparation :

  • In a Pan fry the Cashews and Raisins with Ghee and keep them aside.
  • Add the remaining Ghee into the pan and roast the Rava until becomes light brown in colour.
  • Now add Sugar, Coconut and Milk 
  • Cook the same till the mixture becomes thick.
  • Add the Cashews, Raisins and Cardamom Powder into it and mix thrughly.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and make small balls (Laddu's) when the mixer is warm. Ravva Laddu is ready to eat.

Tips :

  • For making your hands wet while making the balls you can use milk...so that the mixer will not be too dry.
  • Store the Laddu'ds in a Air Tight container.

      Rava Bonda (రవ్వ బోండా)



      Introduction :


      Best snack for the evening time. Less time for preparation and easy to make....last but not least " great taste.


      Ingredients :

      • Rava/ Suji/ Semolina - 3 Cups
      • Rice Flour - 1 Cup
      • Curd/ Yoghurt - 1 Cup
      • Cashew Pieces - 1 tsp
      • Onian -  Big size (finely chopped)
      • Green Chillies - 3 (finely chopped)
      • Oil - For frying 
      • Salt - to taste


      Preparation :


      • Mix Rava, Rice Flour , Curd with water  and keep it aside for 45 mins.
      • Then add Salt, Onians , Green Chillies and Cashew Pieces to get a semi solid batter.
      • Take small balls and deep fry then in the Oil. 
      • Remove from frying when the ball become golden in colour.
      That's it.. very tasty Rava Bonda is ready to eat.
      • Serve it with Coconut Chutney, Karappodi or with Tomato Sauce.

      Mirchi Bajji (మిరపకాయ బజ్జ్జి)


      Introduction :


      Mirchi Bajji is a every one's favorite and spicy dish. It is a mouth watering snack item for tea time.


      Ingredients :
      • Besan /Gram  Flour - 2 cups
      • Green Chillies (long in size)  -  10 no's
      • Baking Soda  -  1/4th tsp
      • Chili Powder - 1/4th tsp
      • Oil - For Deep Fry
      • Salt - to taste
      For Stuffing  :
      • Roasted Peanuts  - 1/2 Cup
      • Tamarind - 1/4th tsp
      • Green Chillies - 2
      • Cumin Seeds - 1/4th tsp
      • Coriander Seeds - 1/4th tsp
      • Salt - to taste
      • Oil - 1 tsp
      For Onion Stuffing :
      • Onions  - 1 big size (Chopped)
      • Salt - 1 pinch
      • Coriander Powder - 1/4th tsp
      • Lemon Juice - 2 tsp

      Preparation :
      • Take the Green Chillies (మిరపకాయలు) and slit them in the center and remove seeds.
      • Fry the stuffing ingredients in the Oil and blend (grind) it in to a thick paste.
      • Fill the Green Chillies with the Peanut paste.
      • Now in a bowl take Besan/Gram Flour and mix with warm water to make a thick batter (make sure that the Batter is not watery). Add Coriander powder , Salt and Soda into the batter.
      • Heat the Oil in a medium flame and dip the chillies one by one in the batter and deep fry them.
      • For Onion Stuffing ..take chopped onions in a bowl add salt , chilli powder and lemom juice and mix it well.
      • Now make a slit to the Bajji and stuff the onions into it. That's it yummy Mirchi Bajji is ready to eat.
      You may serve the Bajji with Tomato Sauce .

      Bobbatlu (బొబ్బట్లు) / Puran Poli

      Introduction:



      Bobbatlu  is a famous sweet dish of Andhra Pradesh. This is a special dish for the festivals. Everyone likes it verymuch ....since it is a less  fat sweet item.

      Ingredients:
      • Chana Dal / Bengal Gram -  1 Cup
      • All Purpose Flour/ Maida - 1 Cup
      • Jaggery  - 1 Cup
      • Cardamom  - 5
      • Salt -  1/4 tsp
      • Oil   -  1/4 Cup
      • Ghee - 1 tsp
      Preparation:
      • In a bowl take All Pupose Flour, add Salt & Oil and mix it well . Now  make the it a dough adding enough water and keep it aside for half an hour so that the dough turn soft.
      • Take Chana Dal in a vessel and cook untill  it becomes soft ( you can also use Pressure Cooker)
      • Drain the water completely from vessel once the Dal is well cooked. 
      • Now mix the grated Jaggery with cooked Chana Dal and add Cardamom powder to it then grind the same to make small balls (Dal should be completely mashed). Let it become cool for 5 mins.
      • Make equal portions of the dough and Chana Dal mixture (పూర్ణం)
      • Tie a cloth (banian cloth preferably ) to Chapati Board (Chakla)  ...so that the dough will not stick to the Board.
      • Now take one ball of dough and spread it with Belan (అప్పడాల కర్ర )  ( chapati rolling pin) on Chapati Board (Chakla)  in to a small circle and place the 'Chana Dal mixture' (పూర్ణం) ball in the middle of the dough circle . And cover it with dough from all the sides.
      • Take this whole thing and spread it on Chapati Board (Chakla) with Belan (అప్పడాల కర్ర ) ...like how we make Chapati. You can sprinkle  All Purpose Flour / Maida on it .. so that  it comes in round shape without sticking to the Board (Chakla).
      • Heat a pan, place the prepared Bobbattu on it and toast it with Ghee.
        That's it ..the Yummy Bobbatlu is ready to eat.

        Sweeet Corn Masala





        Introduction:


        Sweeet Corn is simple and easy to make dish...you can eat it as a evening snack. Enjoying a rainy evening with hot Sweet Corn Masala will be a fantastic combination :) It is also a healthy food as you do not need to use the Oil or butter.


        Ingredients:
        • Sweet Corn -2
        • Chilli Powder - 1 1/2 tsp
        • Salt    -  As Reqiired
        • Garam Masala Powder  -  1 tsp
        • Onions  -  1 Big Size Chopped
        • Freshly chopped tomatoes  - 1 cup
        • Coriander Leaves - For Garnishing
        Preparation:

        • Boil the Corn in a bowl until they become tender. Then drain the water completely from the bowl .
        • Add Chill Powerder, Salt, Garam Masala, Chopped Onion and Tomatoes into Corn and mix it well.
        • Now garnish the Sweet Corn Masala with Coriander leaves.
        Serve Hot 
        According to the taste, you also can add Lemon Juice to the Sweet Corn

          Gavvalu (గవ్వలు) / Shells - Sweet Preparation



          Introduction:


          Gavvalu (గవ్వలు)/ Shells is a typical Andhra sweet dish. Preparation is quite easy. This can be prepared with Sugar syrup or Jaggery (బెల్లం పాకం) .


          Ingredients:
          • Maida - (250 grams)
          • Sugar  - (100 grams)
          • Ghee   - (25 grams)
          • Oil       - to fry
          • Pinch of Salt
          • Cardmom - few nos
            Preparation:


            • Take Maida in a bowl and add a pinch of salt (This will give nice taste to the sweet). Add Ghee to this and mix it well. (make sure there are no lumps). Add some hot water and make it a dough. Keep it aside for 15 mins.Then make dough into small round shaped portions (size can be as per your preference).
            • Take Gavvala peeta (గవ్వల పీట) and convert these roundels into gavvalu (గవ్వలు)/ Shells. If you do not have a dedicated gavvala peeta, then you can use bottle cap/fork as well.
            • Prepare Sugar Syrup separately by taking Sugar in a pan and mix it with water (only to wet the sugar..do not take more water). Boil the same until it becomes thick.
            • Once it is done, drop all the Gavvalu into the Sugar Syrup and mix it well. Now you switch off the stove and leave it for 20 mins . That's it .. tasty tasty Andhra Snack will be ready.
